CookUnity’s uniform policy is designed to protect food safety and maintain professionalism in every kitchen. By following these standards, you prevent contamination, support audit success, and reassure customers that their meals are prepared in a clean, safe environment.
👕 Attire Requirements
- Lab Coat, Long Chef Pants OR Long Street Pants, Apron, Non-Slip close Shoes
OR
- Long-Sleeved Chef Jacket OR Long-Sleeved T-Shirt, Long Chef Pants, Apron, Non-slip Shoes
Other Requirements:
- Wear a CLEAN uniform, apron, or lab coat for every shift - clean is defined by clothing that has been laundered, and is free of any significant stains, debris, or contamination
- Change clothing immediately if it becomes soiled or contaminated during prep.
- Personal appearance must support personal hygiene: no jewelry except a plain wedding band.
- Remove false nails and eyelash extensions, jewelry, ear buds, or other personal intem who could fall into preparations before starting work.
- Hair must be fully secured under appropriate coverings with hairnets provided by CU—avoid accessories that could carry bacteria or fall into food.
🥼 Aprons & Lab Coats
- Aprons or lab coats are mandatory and must stay clean throughout the shift.
- If contaminated with food, chemicals, or bodily fluids, they must be changed immediately.
- Each chef is responsible for maintaining protective outerwear according to posted hygiene standards.
🧢 Hair & Beard Covers
- A HAIRNET must be worn at all times—even over hats.
- BEARD NETS are required for anyone with facial hair, ensuring full coverage.
- These coverings are non-negotiable: they protect meals from stray hairs and are checked in audits.
