Audits help ensure every CookUnity kitchen operates safely, consistently, and in full compliance with food safety standards. They protect customers, support transparency, and keep your meals—and your business—eligible for growth on the platform. Here’s how they work and what you can expect.
📋 What Gets Audited
-
Daily Good Manufacturing Practices [GMP] Compliance (Chef Teams):
Every production day, teams complete a digital GMP audit in the SafetyCulture app (115 total points). It checks critical items like final cook temperatures and using the approved digital recipe. -
Weekly Escalation Audits (CX-Ops):
A weekly review of customer escalations across markets to confirm proper case classification; statuses are finalized by Friday each week.
⚙️ How Audits Run
- Digital Tools: All daily and monthly GMP audits happen in SafetyCulture, providing transparency, quick follow-up, and real-time score visibility.
- Critical Violations: Require immediate corrective action. If not fixed, CookUnity may refuse that day’s delivery and affected meals won’t be compensated.
- Communication: Results are sent via email using audit report through safety culture app, with the Chef-Owner, CS Account Manager, Culinary Manager, and Market Director copied for alignment.
-
Participation: All chef teams must interact with CookUnity FSQA personnel and comply with any and all directives as related to GMPs and FSQA requirements. Failure to do so may result in a Code of Operations Escalation, up to removal - temporary or permanent - from CookUnity facilities.
🚨 Penalties & Follow-Up
- Fail → Re-Audit: A failed audit triggers a re-audit the following week.
-
Two or more Fails on a week production : Triggers a 20% slot cap reduction for one week.
Recovery Path: If there are no failures in the following week, the cap is increased to 40% for two consecutive weeks. If still failing, the cap increases to 60% for an additional two weeks. Full cap is restored if compliance continues for 2 consecutives weeks without failure or passing week - Chronic Non-Compliance: May result in a temporary suspension until the next passing audit.
-
Severe FSQA Violations: Can lead to 20–70% slot reductions (market-specific) or deactivation in repeated cases.
🔍 What Auditors Check
- Food Safety Behavior & Records: Temperature logs, allergen control, sanitation, cooling/holding procedures, and adherence to the official LPS recipe.
- Operational Compliance: Uniform and hygiene standards, labeling, storage order, and following the Code of Operations.
-
Training & Certification: Valid Food Handler or ServSafe certification must be maintained for all kitchen staff.
📊 Visibility & Metrics
- Real-Time Dashboards: SafetyCulture shows live results so you can monitor performance and address issues quickly.
-
Program Metrics: FSQA tracks pass rates and completion across kitchens—like daily GMP completion and monthly audit success—to manage compliance at scale.
✨ Staying audit-ready every day keeps your kitchen compliant, your customers safe, and your slots secure. Use each audit as a chance to improve systems and show your commitment to CookUnity’s highest standards.
